Proposal Process

Criteria for Eligibility
Grants are awarded under these guidelines:

  • Grants are available to the Charlotte region’s non-profit, and in some cases for-profit entrepreneurial service providers.
  • Grants can fund research, impact studies, business surveys, and educational conferences for leaders and officials.
  • Individuals are not eligible to apply for grants.
  • No monies can be used as equity or capital investments. The CRFE does not provide investment funding to startups.

 

Proposal Review Process
Successful proposals to the CRFE will:

  • Achieve objectives in one or more “opportunity areas” identified by the CRFE
  • Show ability to execute on the program
  • Demonstrate community support and involvement, including diversified funding
  • Be measurable and attainable within the grant period
  • Ensure post-grant assessment to determine impact to the community

 

Grants will be awarded throughout the year as funds become available. Below is the submission process:
Process

Proposals will be reviewed by the Advisory Committee. Those meeting the criteria and providing the most value will be sent to the board with a recommendation to accept. Winning proposals will be announced by The Foundation For The Carolinas, and grant recipients will be notified.
